Born near Charleston, South Carolina, Banjo Brown’s life has always been defined by engagement, service, and a deep-seated love for authentic American music. Raised in a Navy family, he traveled the country from a young age before eventually charting his own path in the military. He dedicated 27 years to national service, working first as a Farsi linguist and later earning his commission as an intelligence officer.
While his military career spanned nearly three decades, his musical journey began during his final deployment to the Horn of Africa. Picking up the guitar for the first time at age 40, Banjo discovered a latent passion that would shape the rest of his life.
